East Day Spa has been awarded both Oceania’s Best Hotel Spa and New Zealand’s Best Hotel Spa in the World Spa Awards, outshining finalists in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific for the awards.
Split Apple Hideaway, Nelson, was named New Zealand’s Best Wellness Spa 2015.
The inaugural World Spa Awards for 2015 reward unsurpassed service excellence from the world’s leading spas and aim to set a definitive benchmark of excellence in the rapidly growing global spa industry.

Votes in the World Spa Awards were cast by professionals working within the spa industry, senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, agents and hundreds of thousands of spa consumers in more than 90 countries.

One of New Zealand’s largest premiere luxury day spas, East Day Spa Auckland has 12 treatment rooms. Facilities include five double suites, a five-head Vichy shower, steam, beauty, massage and relaxation rooms.
The purpose-built sanctuary - on the ground floor of Sky City Grand Hotel - was designed to provide peace and relaxation in an ‘East meets West’ ambiance.
With a philosophy centred on stimulating holistic well-being, the spa specialises in holistic, Eastern-style massage, skin and beauty treatments. Treatments and mostly based on Indian Ayurvedic and Balinese rituals, but also include some indigenous New Zealand elements.
East Day Spa has branches in Auckland, Wellington and Bali.
Owner Ina Bajaj opened the first East Day Spa in Wellington in 2002, following up with the second spa in Auckland in 2004.
Kenyan-born Bajaj grew up in Wellington after moving with her family to New Zealand when she was eight years old. She worked in fashion and hospitality, opened the Curry Club restaurant in Wellington before making the move into the spa business, first in Wellington and then Auckland.
